We’re still examining claims on COVID-19 cure - Minister of Science and Technology Onu

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu has disclosed that the Ministry is still verifying Coranavirus cure samples sent to it, saying no final decision has been made yet.

Talking at the quarterly management meeting of the Ministry and its agencies in Abuja on Monday Onu revealed that the Ministry offered the sum of N36 Million in March this year to Scientists  that could find the cure for Covid-19 and Lassa fever.

According to Onu, submissions for the Covid-19 cure have been directed to the Academy of Science for verification as well as recommendation to the Ministry saying the government ministry wants to develop home-grown solutions to help manage the Covid-19 pandemic.
